Nunez Family Tree 2026

Pennies, prefab linear rails, birch ply, 3D printed PLA, paper

 

I made this family tree during my spring residency at Monson Arts. Each linear rail represents one person of my family going back two generations. A timeline starts with a penny from the year the individual was born and continues chronologically. Each penny representing one year of life lived.

The linear rails are not fixed and can move horizontally to accompany people of different generations. The shiplap joint allows additions as families grow.

With the last penny minted in 2025 subsequent years are represented by empty coin inserts.
